The Verizon Prepaid Basic Plan costs 25 cents per minute and no daily access charge. The Verizon Basic plan is not a good value when you compare to other prepaid wireless plans.
Net10.com for 10 cents a minute or Tracfone.com. from 6.6 cents up to 33 cents a minute are better alternatives.
The Verizon Core Plan will cost you 99 cents per day access and calls are 10 cents per minute. Unlimited calls to Verizon Wireless phones are free of charge. I made use of the Verizon Wireless Core program for almost a year, if most of your calls tend to be to other Verizon Wireless users this can be a great option.
The Plus Plan is $1.99 per day access and charges 5 cents per minute. This plan also includes Unlimited night and weekend minutes (starting at 9 p.m.) and Unlimited calls to other Verizon Wireless phones all day.

If your Prepaid Verizon phone is inactive it will still be able to contact 911. As long as your phone can get a signal and the battery is charged up enough you can use your inactive Verizon phone as an emergency phone.
Tracfone Wireless Yearly Mobile Phone Plan
Tracfone has two yearly plans. They sell a $100 one year card that you receive Four hundred minutes (800 if you have Double Minutes for Life. If you just get 800 units with this unit card gives you 12.5 cent minutes and under $9 a month for service.
Also available from Tracfone.com is a $200 yearly plan. This unit card provides you with 1500 units 3000 units with DMFL) and also a 12 months of activation time. With Double minutes for life installed these units are 6.6 cents each and your per month cost is less than $17 a month.
